Must-Have PS5 Accessories
The PS5 accessories that are actually worth buying: headset, thumbstick caps, charging dock, extra storage and cooling — plus what to skip.
Accessory lists are usually padded with junk. These are the upgrades that change how you play, ranked by how much difference they make per riyal.
1. A proper gaming headset
Biggest jump in immersion and competitive awareness. Go low-latency wireless if the budget allows, otherwise a good wired headset into the DualSense.
2. Thumbstick caps
Cheap, reversible and surprisingly effective. Raised, textured caps add grip and precision in FPS games and protect the stock sticks from wear.
3. A charging dock
Two controllers, always charged, no cable across the room. If you play with friends or family, this ends every mid-match battery panic.
4. Extra storage
An M.2 SSD with a heatsink adds PS5-speed space for current games; a cheap external USB drive is fine for archiving PS4 titles.
What you can skip
- RGB console skins and light strips — pure decoration.
- No-name cooling fans that block the PS5's own airflow.
- Ultra-cheap third-party controllers with drifting sticks.
- Screen protectors for the console (there is no screen).
